Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Insurance
I am an "out of network" provider and do not belong to any insurance panels. However, I can give you a “super bill” which you may turn into your insurance for reimbursement of whatever amount they will cover. If you are interested in couples counseling, you may need to check with your insurance and see if they cover your couples therapy or marriage counseling. Most do not unless there is a diagnosable disorder.
Health Savings Account (HSA) / Flexible Savings Account (FSA)
You may also want to know your options in your Health Savings Account and your Flex Spending Accounts and check to see if you can leverage them to your benefit towards psychotherapy.
Financial Aid
If you are an individual between 20-30 years of age, living in Foster City or the city of San Mateo, the Ben Fund may be able to assist you in paying a portion of your Counseling fees. Please call me to make an appointment and specify that you will need assistance from the Ben Fund. You may obtain further information from The Ben Fund, Belmont, CA 94002
